Mr. and Mrs. Wilson | 655 West | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

October 2, 2017

I’ve got another fabulous wedding for you all today! Amy and Steven were married at one of my favorite venues, 655 West! I first met Amy at a bridal show and I remember chatting with her and thinking she is so sweet! I was so excited that she and Steven chose me to capture their wedding day!

Amy and Steven met through mutual friends. As for the proposal, Steven popped the question at their house. Amy says, “I was lying on the couch watching the GA game when he got down on one knee.”

Their wedding day was truly gorgeous! I started the day off with the girls in the bridal suite. One of the cutest moments of the day was watching Amy help her son Brentlee get in his suit. He was such a trooper, but I could tell that he was not loving being dressed up!

Speaking of dressed up, Amy’s dress was seriously stunning! I asked Amy to tell me about how she found her perfect dress. She said: “I had gone to several stores around Atlanta with my mom and various bridesmaids and tried on many dresses. I ended up at Prom USA in Douglasville which is just a few minutes from home.  I was blown away at the selection of bridal gowns.

Since I am horrible at making decisions I asked my mom, son and soon to be step daughter to pull any dresses they thought I would like and I would try as many on as they found.  The dress I chose ended up being the first dress my mom picked out.  When I walked out of the dressing room with it on my son immediately said “mom you look like a pretty princess” and Kennedy said, “I love it….that’s the one”.  I knew immediately that was the dress!  The funny part is, I originally said the dress I picked would be simple and sweet/elegant.  Ends up, the dress we all fell in love with was total opposite of what I had expected to find”

We had a lot of fun taking wedding pictures, as well. Amy and Steven decided not to see each other until Amy was walking down the aisle, but they did share a sweet behind the door moment prior to the ceremony. Amy said the behind the door moment was one of her favorite moments of the wedding day. She said “being able to touch his hand and talk to Steven without actually seeing him was great.”

Steven said his favorite moment was “when the doors opened and I saw her for the first time.”  As for me, one of my personal favorite moments of the wedding was when Amy’s son Brentlee gave her away. The minister said who gives this woman and Brentlee loudly proclaimed “ME!” I also loved when the couple had both of their children up to do the unity candle. It was such a special moment.

The reception was so much fun. My favorite part of the reception was when Amy and Steven did the shoe game. I loved watching their reactions to the questions as well as the guest reactions to their answers! You could tell they were really having the time of their lives surrounded by family and friends who love them.

I asked Amy if she had any advice for couples planning their weddings and she said “Enjoy every minute of planning and the day of the wedding.  It all passes by so fast.  Invest in a great photographer because so much happens that you can’t possibly see and the pictures are going to provide the memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.”

Speaking of the pictures, let’s get to it!  Amy and Steven thank you so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
