I absolutely loved photographing Katie and Bradley’s wedding at The Atlanta Country Club! They met their freshman year in college through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since. As for the proposal, Bradley proposed the day after Thanksgiving 2015 in the Marietta Square where they had their first date! I met Katie and Bradley for the first time when I took their engagement photos at the Marietta Square. I really enjoyed walking around downtown Marietta and laughing with them. I could hardly wait until their wedding day so I could see them again!
I started the day off with Katie and the girls in the bridal suite. I loved that Katie had matching pj’s for the girls, they were so cute!
Katie decided to do a reveal for her bridesmaids when she got in her dress, their reactions were great! Speaking of the dress, Katie said she did not exactly have in mind what she wanted, but she knew what she didn’t want. She fell in love with the lace detail and fitted body, with a low back. The dress was absolutely perfect for her and she looked stunning!
The guys got ready at Katie’s parents’ house which is just about a minute away from the venue via golf cart. I noticed Bradley’s groomsmen gifts on the table when I walked in, they have to be some of the most unique gifts I’ve ever seen. He gave them mugs with a photo where he photo-shopped himself with each groomsman in a different backdrop. From Star Wars and ET to Siegfried and Roy they were so hilarious!
Bradley and Katie’s dog Nellie made a special appearance during the guys getting ready photos too. I couldn’t believe how much she has grown since their engagement session!
When I asked Katie what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said: “My favorite moment(s) were the ones that we got to spend together – first look, private dinner before the reception, photos.” For me, my favorite moment of the day was the first look and portraits. Bradley’s reaction to seeing Katie for the first time was great, you could tell just how happy he was that she was about to become his wife. Their portraits immediately following the first look were so much fun! Katie and Bradley are such naturals in front of the camera and it made the whole session flow flawlessly.
The ceremony was so beautiful. Katie said that she was a little nervous about the weather since the ceremony was outside, but the weather was absolutely perfect!
After the ceremony, we decided to take a few sunset photos around the lake. The light was perfect, but what I love most about these photos is that you can see Katie’s childhood home in the background of a few of them.
The reception was so much fun! The Party ATL Band kept the dance floor packed all night. I asked Katie if she had any advice for couples planning their wedding and I loved what she said : “Remember what this “journey” is all about – it’s not the wedding, it’s the marriage that you are committing to and it should be a celebration! There will be stressful times, but in the end, you are marrying your best friend so the little stuff doesn’t matter!”
Katie and Bradley’s wedding day was truly amazing. From their super sweet first look to the fun dance party reception, I loved every minute. Katie and Bradley, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
