Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates and what does it include?

My wedding collections start at $2,200. All collections include two photographers and a usb of edited images with print release. Other available options are an engagement session,  wedding albums, save the date cards, prints, slide shows, gallery wraps, and more. I can always customize a package to suit your needs just send me an e-mail!

How far in advance do we need to book?

Most couples tend to book their photographer shortly after choosing a date and venue.

What about payments? Do you require a deposit?

I require a $500 retainer at contract-signing to hold your wedding date. The remaining balance is split into 2 payments with the final payment being due one month prior to your wedding.

Have you ever shot a wedding at my venue? If not, will you check it out in advance?

Feel free to ask me and I’ll let you know! Either way, I’d be more than happy do a walk-through with you if you would like. No matter what, I always check out images online, talk to you about specifics and touch base with your planner/coordinator prior to your wedding! When I arrive the day of  the wedding I always do a quick walk through as well.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! I love traveling and discovering fantastic new cities! I would love to go wherever your wedding is taking place! Let’s chat!

What kind of cameras do you use? Do you have insurance?

I use professional grade Nikon equipment. I always carry back-up equipment in case of malfunction.Yes! I have equipment insurance for my cameras and lenses as well as liability insurance. Many venues require proof of liability insurance for wedding vendors, so this is important for you to ask any vendor you are considering.

How many events will you photograph on our wedding day?

Only one…yours! I never accept more than one wedding or event per day and I rarely schedule more than one per weekend.

What happens if you are unable to make it?

Though it’s never happened, in case there’s ever a major emergency that would prevent me from shooting I have an awesome network of amazingly talented photographer friends who can step in for me. Knowing I’m prepared puts everyone (including me) at ease.

How long will it take for us to get our photos after the wedding and how many photos do we receive?

I like to blog a preview of your wedding photos within a few weeks and will deliver all of your final images no later than six weeks after your wedding. The number of photos depends on the amount of coverage you choose and how the wedding itself unfolds. A good rule of thumb is 60-80 photos per hour of coverage. There are a number of redundancies and blinking, blurring, etc. that can happen during shooting that are left out. In the end you get a beautiful set of photos showing everyone at their best and you don’t have to weed through a bunch of so-so ones to find them!

Can we give you a list of shots that we want?

I’ve been shooting weddings for a long time, so I always know to grab the big moments {and the little ones in-between}. I’ll take all of the important shots (first kiss, first dance, etc.), but if you have a particular group of people you want to make sure I get a photo of or something special that’s important to you that I wouldn’t have known about, just let me know! I love hearing about your family traditions or that you plan to surprise everyone with your choreographed dance moves!

I love Pinterest as much as the next girl, and I will definitely take a look at the shots you love in order to get a feel for what you’re looking for, but because every wedding is different, I can’t guarantee that we can exactly replicate any pinned ideas. Pinterest-type shot lists can be less than ideal because they encourage an unrealistic expectation of timing and take away from the candid moments happening all around you, moments that might be missed if we’re going down a checklist. So just relax and be yourself! The beautiful moments will happen naturally.

We will meet up a few weeks before your wedding to talk about the final details. Things like family groupings and planning your timeline. It’s also a great idea to designate someone to help coordinate those family groupings and make sure family & wedding party members know where to be and when (especially since I won’t know everyone just yet).
