I am so excited to share Lauren and Augie’s wedding with you all today! I met Lauren for the first time a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid in Ali and Eric’s wedding. I was so thrilled when she contacted me to capture her wedding day!
It’s always so fun to hear about how a couple met and their first impressions of each other. Here is Lauren and Augie’s story. Augie and Lauren met in December of 2010 when Lauren was home on Christmas break during her senior year of college. Lauren asked her parents for personal training sessions for Christmas that year. Her parents purchased her six sessions. Augie was assigned as Lauren’s personal trainer for the sessions. Augie immediately found Lauren pretty and witty, but Lauren thought Augie was overly sarcastic! Augie added Lauren on Facebook before she went back to Milledgeville to finish her senior year. Reluctantly, Lauren resumed training with Augie after she graduated and moved back home! Eventually, the pair bonded over a love of drinking Starbucks Coffee and going to movies, and Lauren’s opinion of Augie changed. Augie asked Lauren to be his girlfriend after a night at Cirque du Soleil and dinner at her favorite restaurant!
As for the proposal, Augie took Lauren to her favorite restaurant, Café Intermezzo. He insisted on ordering dessert even though Lauren was full. When the waiter brought out the cheesecake, it had “Will you marry me?” written on it with a candle! As the waiter put it in front of Lauren, he said, “This message is not from me!” Right then, Augie got down on one knee and opened the ring box. Then lots of staff members jumped out from a hiding place and started cheering.
What is even cooler about their engagement story is a few months later, they adopted a dog (Zoe) from the Atlanta Humane Society. As they were signing the adoption papers, they found out that Zoe was born on the day they got engaged! It was fate! When we did their engagement photos they included Zoe and she was adorable!
I absolutely loved photographing Lauren and Augie’s wedding at Our Lady of the Assumption and The Piedmont Room at Park Tavern. Their wedding day was truly gorgeous. Lauren and her mom planned everything themselves and every detail was perfect.
When I asked Lauren what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said:
“One of the most special parts of the wedding for me (Lauren) was having my dad direct the music during the ceremony. He brought his elite girls chorus to sing, and they were absolutely stunning! They even processed in to the ceremony while singing Alleluia Incantation with hand bells. I did not cry at any other point in the wedding except for when the chorus was singing after communion. They sounded like angels. They were a major wow factor at our wedding, and it’s something that was unique from any other wedding.”
Their reception was also so much fun and full of Lauren’s special touches. I loved all of the Atlanta themed details from the centerpieces to the cake topper. One of the highlights for me the father -daughter dance. Lauren said it was one of her favorite moments of the day as well. What was really special was that Lauren and her dad danced to a recording of the two of them singing Unforgettable. They kept it a surprise from their guests and it was cool to see the guests’ responses when they realized it was a recording of their duet and not Nat King Cole!
You could tell Lauren and Augie were really enjoying their wedding day surrounded by family and friends who love them! Lauren said, What a day! It is very surreal to be in a room with every single one of your family members and friends. We had a great day! We felt so loved and so full of gratitude.”
Okay, enough talk. Let’s get to the photos! I wish Lauren and Augie many more years of love and happiness!
