Mr. and Mrs. Dutoit | The Corry House | Atlanta and Destination Wedding Photographer

June 29, 2017

I have an awesome wedding to share with you guys today! Michelle and Drew were married at the gorgeous Corry House in Union Point, Georgia.

Michelle and Drew met when they were in college. They both were in the hospitality industry and worked at Hotel Duval.

Michelle and Drew’s proposal story is so perfect. I’ll let Michelle fill you in “Drew did the most amazing proposal. The best part is I had absolutely no idea it was happening. When we were in college we used to go to St. George Island on our days off. It is the first trip we took together when we met. He surprised me with a romantic trip there for our first valentine’s day. One weekend a year and a half ago he told me he wanted to travel to Tallahassee to visit some of our old stomping grounds. I was very hesitant Tallahassee didn’t seem like a good vacation spot but he kept pushing so we started our trip to Tallahassee for the weekend. After the first night of being in town, he said to me why don’t we take a day trip to St. George Island tomorrow where we used to go. I was ecstatic there was nothing going on in Tallahassee and one night of college clubbing was enough for me. So, the next morning we were driving to the island he says well it’s too cold to go to the beach we should tour the lighthouse they have the largest lighthouse. (he had to make it sound intriguing) and that was where my life was changed forever, at the top of that really small lighthouse the love of my life got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I jumped with joy and of course said yes. But the surprises didn’t end there; as we looked out the lighthouse window I see my sister and his brother that he asked to join us for the weekend celebration. He rented us all a house on the beach for the weekend his grandparents joined us as well. I will never forget that weekend and the amazing memories we all had. It could not have been more perfect!!!”

The wedding day was so much fun even when it rained. Just before the ceremony started the rain started to fall, Michelle and Drew decided that the rain wasn’t going to stop them from getting married in the gorgeous forest backdrop. It made for a sweet and intimate ceremony.

I asked Michelle about her favorite moments from the wedding day and she said, “Walking down the aisle with my father to my groom it was pouring down rain and I couldn’t have cared less, all I wanted to do was kiss my handsome groom.”

After the ceremony, the rain stopped and we took the formal photos on the gorgeous grounds of the Corry House, the venue has so many places to take photos, it’s really a photographer’s dream venue.

The reception was so much fun. From the speeches to the all night dancing, you could tell that Michelle and Drew were loving every minute of their reception.

I asked Michelle if she had any wedding planning advice and I loved her answer: “Try and take things one step at a time and enjoy each other during the process. The planning and stress will sometimes take over your relationship remember to make time for yourselves. Enjoy every second of your wedding day it goes by so quickly you want to take it all in!”

Michelle and Drew thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
