I love getting to be a part of the most exciting day in a couples lives and when the couple happens to be close personal friends it is even more awesome! Liz and Christina are two of my closest college friends, so when they asked me to capture their wedding day I was so honored and excited!
I actually had the unique opportunity to get to know the two of them as individuals before they were a couple. We all attended Kennesaw State University and were members of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority. That is where Liz and Christina met as well. Liz was the chapter president and Christina was a member of the inaugural pledge class in 2006. It wasn’t until March of 2007 that the sparks flew for the two of them.
In July 2015 Christina surprised Liz with a trip to New York. They wandered all around the city as Christina (unbeknownst to Liz) searched for the perfect spot to propose. They got engaged at the beautiful Library Hotel in midtown Manhattan.
Liz and Christina were married at the gorgeous Highland Inn Ballroom and Lounge.
For the first part of the day they decided to get ready together until it was time to put on their dresses. Speaking of their dresses, they used the same stylist at BHLDN so she was able to help them select dresses that complemented each other’s and highlighted their personalities without them ever seeing each other’s dresses until they walked down the aisle. Having their dresses be a secret until they walked down the aisle was important and a special part of their wedding day.
My favorite part of the day was the ceremony. I love the emotion I captured of Christina watching Liz walk down the aisle. The emotion, heartfelt moments and personalized details along with the fact that I was watching two of my friends finally come together as one made it a ceremony to remember. The ceremony was also Liz’s favorite moment especially hearing the words “I now pronounce you married.”
The reception was also filled with amazing moments from their first dance as a married couple to the speeches by Liz’s sister, their friend Amy, and Liz and Christina’s dads. Christina said the highlight of the day for her was dancing with family and friends, especially her 94-year-old grandma.
Liz and Christina thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It means so much that two people who have been there for the most of my favorite memories from the past ten years allowed me to capture the start of this new chapter of their lives!
I asked Liz and Christina to talk about their overall wedding experience they said “It definitely felt like a dream — seeing all the details we had worked on over the previous year come together so wonderfully and having all the people we loved together in one place. We felt supported and surrounded by love. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day!”
Just beautiful! I felt like I was there again!
Such a beautiful day for two beautiful people. So glad that I got to take a peek at such a beautiful moment in your life!
Simply beautiful. The two of you look so happy as you begin this life journey together.
Much happiness always.
Fondly, Mindee
My Liz looked just like a princess that wonderful evening! That was her nickname as a child, and for one night it was really true. Christina looked lovely and very elegant, and you could tell how much she and Liz love each other. Welcome to the family! It was the most fun that I have ever experienced at a wedding, including my own.
