Hello! I’ve got another gorgeous wedding for you guys today! Kera and Nathan were married at 550 Trackside in Lawrenceville.
Kera and Nathan originally met in high school but lost touch after Nathan graduated. Over the next five years, Kera went off to college and Nathan joined the military. In 2012, Nathan messaged Kera on Facebook to say hello (the girl in Hunger Games reminded him of Kera), and in June 2012 they met for drinks to catch up. Five days later, Nathan deployed for 9 months in the Middle East. He emailed her on his second day out, and the emails just never stopped. When he got back, they started dating and the rest is history!
Here is what Kera has to say about their proposal story, “I had just returned from a trip to Seattle to look for our new house and Nate picked me up at the airport. When we got home and walked into the house, our two puppies had cute little signs around their necks saying “Will you marry our daddy?”. Turns out he had the ring in his pocket the whole time! It was the sweetest thing ever.”
I started the day off in the bridal suite with Kera and the girls while Kim was in the groom’s room with Nathan and the groomsmen. The entire wedding party was so much fun and you could tell just how happy they were to see Kera and Nathan tie the knot. I asked Kera about her dress and what drew her to it she said “I looked and looked and couldn’t find anything like what I was envisioning. Finally, I went to a boutique in Seattle alone and they had two-piece dress options where I could mix and match. It ended up being perfect!”
My favorite moment of the day was Kera and Nathan’s first look. The looks on their faces when they saw each other for the first time were so adorable! When I asked Kera what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said:“My favorite memory was during our photo session before the ceremony when Nate and I shared our bottle of wine. It was one of the few moments the whole day where we got to be alone. Wine and wine tasting is something we both really love and do often so it felt like home during those few minutes.”
I asked Kera if they were happy that they chose to do a first look and she said: “Yes, our first look was awesome. We felt like we needed one because we would be so nervous before the ceremony so seeing each other really helped us to exchange those nerves for pure joy.”
The ceremony was full of sweet moments and happy tears. You could tell just how excited Kera and Nathan were to be spending the rest of their lives together. I especially enjoyed watching their handfasting ceremony.
Their reception was so much fun. You could tell they were really loving every minute of their special day being surrounded by the family and friends they love. It was so fun to watch everyone’s awesome dance moves and there might have even been a glow stick fight. There was never a dull moment!
I asked Kera how she would describe her overall wedding day experience and she said “Amazing. Best day of my life so far. All I could feel was excitement and love and happiness coming from every single person. It was awesome and we had a blast dancing with the glowsticks.”
Join me in wishing Kera and Nathan many more years of love and happiness!
