I am so excited to share Will and Jessica’s Disney World engagement session with you today! They are getting married in Roswell in November, but since they met while working at Disney they decided that it would be the perfect place for their engagement photos.
I asked Jessica to tell me the story of how they met and she said, “Will and I met the first day of our new internships at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Will followed me into the lodge on our first day where we waited to meet with our new team. After I realized he was following me because he had no idea where he was going, we started talking and became immediate friends. We were happy to find out that we were working on the same team and shortly after our program started, we became best friends. It wasn’t until about one month after our program ended that we started dating. Going into our relationship, I immediately knew it was different. Our relationship had such a strong foundation and had let us really get to know each other deeply. It didn’t take long for both of us to realize we were it for each other”. Since Jessica and Will first met at Animal Kingdom Lodge that is where we started our session. The grounds at the lodge are so gorgeous! It is so cool to be able to watch the zebras, giraffes and other African animals roam around the savanna.
Jessica gifted will this adventure book just like the one in the movie Up and it is filled with photos of all of their travels. I know they will be filling the pages for years to come. Here is what Jessica said about the gift, ” I gave the adventure book to Will for Valentine’s day of this year. Both of us work for Disney, so of course we have our favorite movie, but our favorite movie to watch together is Up. It’s a beautiful story and we love the catch phrase of “adventure is out there”. Together we have taken so many trips and traveled all over the world. In the Adventure book, I have photos, tickets, papers and other random things from our travels to document our own adventures. I like that it is something we can both look back on and remember everything we have done together and have it as a constant reminder to keep exploring.”
Speaking of their travels, Will and Jessica got engaged on a trip to Hawaii. Here is what Jessica had to say about that, ” I found out later that Will kept hinting at taking a great trip so he could work in a proposal during it! Will and I decided we wanted to drive the road to Hana that goes around the island of Maui. All during the journey around the island, there are beautiful waterfalls and trails to hike to your hearts desire. Will and I pulled off at a beautiful botanical garden that had caught both of our eyes. The garden was built into the side of a mountain and overlooked the Pacific Ocean. We walked all over and Will patiently allowed me to take a plethora of photos. Once we got to the highest point of the botanical garden, we were greeted by a waterfall in the background and lily ponds everywhere! It was there that will asked me to marry him and be his forever travel companion. It was perfect.”
After we left the lodge we headed to the parks, our first stop was the Animal Kingdom and of course, we had to take photos by the tree of life. Luckily the spot we stopped at was not crowded so we were able to take most of our photos undisturbed.
I was excited to walk around the parks with Jessica and Will because they knew all of the best spots and hidden gems. This mural is gorgeous and it was tucked away in a corner in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom.
No Disney World engagement session is complete without a stop at the Magic Kingdom! I had so much fun walking around and exploring the park with Jessica and Will.
We totally lucked out and the parade was going on when we got to the front of the castle so we were able to take a few photos without any tourists in the background! It looks like they had the park to themselves, but I can attest to the fact that there were a ton of people just a few feet behind us.
Will and Jessica had a blast on the tea cups, so much so that I had to tell them to slow down a bit so they didn’t look like total blurs in the photos!
Our final ride of the day was the cars at Tomorrowland speedway. They even put a just married poster on the car.
I asked Jessica if she had any tips or advice for other couples considering an engagement session. She said, “Will and I would encourage other couples about to have engagement pictures taken to just relax. Be your true selves together and your love for one another will shine through each shot taken. Enjoy the time together and trust that you’ll have some wonderful memories to share with your family, friends and children one day! It definitely got easier as the shoot kept going and we got more comfortable taking the photos! It was wonderful to be in the places that Will and I love together and to know we were creating some lasting memories with one another.” Will and Jessica thank you so much for spending the afternoon roaming all around Disney World with me! I can’t wait until your wedding!
