I have another awesome wedding to share with you all today! You may remember Lindsay and Scott from their awesome Carter Center engagement session earlier this year.
Lindsay and Scott met through their mutual friend, Adam, who was Scott’s best friend growing up and Lindsay’s friend in college. They all moved to Atlanta eventually after college. Their first official outing together as a group was at The Porter in Little Five Points.
As for the proposal, Scott proposed on the rooftop of Lindsay’s apartment building at sunset after they had a picnic dinner with Indian takeout (something they do a lot) and a bottle of champagne. It was very private and intimate.
Their wedding day was beautiful. I loved that they inserted unique and DIY touches that really showcased their personalities. Scott made the arch that they were married under as well as crafting both signature cocktails.
As for me, one of my personal favorite moments of the wedding was their first look. I loved seeing Scott’s face light up when he saw Lindsay for the first time!
When I asked Lindsay what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said: “We asked Scott’s nieces, Charlotte (5 years old) and Madelyn (3 years old) to be our flower girls for the wedding and knew they would be amazing. We knew they probably had a show stopper up their sleeve but weren’t sure when it would happen or what it would look like. Charlotte, usually calm and collected, froze when it was time to walk down the aisle. Madelyn, though, went right up to the front where Scott was waiting, saving all her petals for the big moment when she slowly handed every petal to Scott, continuing even when I began walking down the aisle. She wouldn’t stop until the last petal was handed over to Scott. It was hilarious.”
The wedding day went perfectly thanks to wedding planner Julia with Wrennwood Design. She one of the best wedding planners in Atlanta and I loved working with her!
I asked Lindsay to describe her overall wedding experience and she said, “We wanted our wedding to feel like a party for all of our friends and family. The setting was intimate and charming, without being overly formal or fancy. Little touches like the bluegrass music for the cocktail hour, fun King of Pops popsicle flavors and lawn games made it feel like we were hosting the coolest party ever. Plus, Scott spent weeks experimenting with different cocktails for our signature cocktails, so it was fun to see everyone drinking what he had literally concocted that morning – it really made it feel like our personality was in a lot of the details.”
You could tell they were really loving every minute of their day surrounded by friends and family who love them!
I wish Lindsay and Scott many more years of love and happiness!!
