I am so excited to share Catherine and Brett’s wedding with you all today! Catherine and Brett were married at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and had a super fun reception at the Pace House. Catherine and Brett met in Grad School at Georgia Tech. They met in concrete lab and the rest is history!
You may remember Catherine and Brett from their Marietta Square engagement session earlier this year. Their engagement session was actually two parts because it started raining about 10 minutes into the first session, luckily on their wedding day the weather was absolutely perfect!
I arrived at the church just as the girls were arriving. Catherine had a great group of ladies helping her get ready, her two bridesmaids, her mom as well as her five honorary bridesmaids. Right before we walked out for her first look with Brett, Catherine shared a sweet first look moment with her dad.
After everyone dried up their tears (myself included), it was time to go outside for Catherine and Brett’s first look. I loved the way Catherine and Brett looked at each other, they are seriously the cutest! Catherine said that she loved doing a first look because “it was a great way to calm nerves and start celebrating.”
I really enjoyed Catherine and Brett’s portrait session they are both so laid back and are total naturals in front of the camera! I love that Catherine was totally game to jump in a pile of leaves so we could get some awesome fall foliage in the background.
Their wedding party was also so much fun to work with! They chose to have honorary attendants in addition to their bridesmaids and groomsmen. They were such a fun group and cracked jokes the whole time.
The ceremony took place in the St. Mary’s Chapel at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Chapel was absolutely gorgeous and made the perfect backdrop for Catherine and Brett’s ceremony. After the ceremony, we took family and a few more wedding party photos in the chapel and then we headed over to the reception venue.
We took a few more photos on the grounds of the Pace House and then it was time for Catherine and Brett’s reception entrance! I love that the dance floor at the pace house is outdoors. It’s such a unique and gorgeous space.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the speeches. I thought it was so funny that Catherine’s dad and twin sister both touched on the same subject, Catherine’s Club. When Catherine was younger she created a club with some very specific rules, it was such a funny anecdote and I enjoyed hearing about it from two different perspectives. Brett’s dad also gave a really sweet speech that made everyone tear up.
Catherine and Brett’s wedding day also happened to be Catherine’s grandmother’s birthday so after their cake cutting everyone sang happy birthday to her. I loved her reaction, she was so surprised! Speaking of Catherine’s grandmother, my favorite moment of the wedding day was a sweet moment between Catherine, her sister, and her grandmother. Towards the end of the reception Catherine and Rebecca took a break from all the dancing and sat down next to their grandmother. I was far enough away that I could not hear their conversation, but I loved watching them all interact together.
Catherine and Brett had one of my favorite exits ever, their guests threw confetti! It was so much fun and made for some awesome photos!
So enough talk, I know you are ready to see the photos! Catherine and Brett thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
