I am so excited to share Tamara and Jonathan’s awesome Commerce Club wedding with you today! I met Tamara at a bridal show in March and I was thrilled when she and Jonathan chose me to capture their day. I met Jonathan for the first time when I took their engagement photos in Inman Park. I knew from the engagement session that their wedding day would be full of laughter. They are so great together and I love the way their smiles light up when the look at each other. I started the day with Tamara and her bridesmaids. Tamara had all of her details ready for me to photograph and oh my goodness were they perfection!
Tamara’s dresses were seriously gorgeous! The lace of her ceremony dress was so intricate and it fit her like a glove! Tamara said that she thought that she would choose an entirely different type of dress and she almost didn’t try this one on because she didn’t really like it on the hanger. When she put it on, it was this moment of “wow I think this is the dress”. She hadn’t really decided on having a second dress for the reception, but stumbled across her reception dress when she was shopping online for something else, when she saw it she knew she had to have it as an added bonus it was on clearance!
My favorite part of the day was the first look. I always use a longer lens for the first look to let the couple have a moment alone. I told Jonathan to let me know when they were ready for photos. His thumbs up was priceless!
We chose to do the first look and most of their wedding party photos in the atrium of the Commerce Club. The atrium is really amazing; it gives you the feel of outside without having to be out in the summer heat!
The wedding went perfectly thanks to their amazing wedding planner Erin, with Stella Harper Events. She is one of the best wedding planners in Atlanta.
These special desserts came from Tamara’s hometown of Racine, Wisconsin and were so delicious!
Tamara said that she and Jonathan wanted to have an amazing party with their family and friends and I think they totally succeeded in doing that! You could tell they were really loving every minute surrounded by friends and family. When I asked what their favorite part of the wedding was, Tamara said “Seeing all of our family and friends having a great time together and helping us celebrate. No one left our wedding as strangers. It was truly a celebration.”
I asked Tamara and Jonathan if they had any advice for couples planning their wedding and I absolutely love what Tamara said, “Enjoy the experience but realize that the wedding really is just one day. Spend less time focusing on the wedding and more focusing on the marriage and you’ll be in great shape!” Tamara and Jonathan you guys are so awesome and I enjoyed every minute of your wedding day. I wish you many wonderful years to come!
