I am so excited to share Brianne and Cody’s awesome wedding. They were married at one of my favorite venues, The Wheeler House.
I always love hearing about my couple’s proposal stories and Brianne and Cody’s is one of my favorites: Here’s what Brianne had to say about the proposal: “It was a normal Sunday on February 18th, 2018. We were supposed to have our usual Sunday night dinner with our friends AmyBeth and Charles. Crazy enough, the boys wanted to change things up and go for a hike. I thought nothing of it, but I was happy to take advantage of being outdoors. Not knowing I was completely setting myself up, I asked AmyBeth to take pictures of me for my running company and wore my “Rushing to be FIT” shirt.
After a couple of minutes into the trail, our dog Dizzy and I went down a hill to get to the creek. Little did we know that the side was “quick” mud (at least that’s what I like to call it). Next thing I knew I was knee deep STUCK in the mud. Our friend Charles came to the rescue while Cody tried to catch Dizzy. This day was not going as planned.
We got to the second trail where we have gone many times with Dizzy. We were approaching an overlook when I asked AmyBeth to stop and take pictures of me for my website. As we were finishing up our small photo shoot, Cody asked if he could get in a picture with me since his last name was on the shirt. I started grinning ear to ear because it showed me how much he supported me starting a company! AmyBeth suggested one more picture of my Instagram handle on the back of the shirt. As I turn around to get together with Cody there he was on one knee. Tears started rolling down my cheeks as I stared into the eyes of the man I love. He expressed his love and promised me a life full of happiness and asked for my hand in marriage. The words yes couldn’t come out of my mouth fast enough and I jumped into his arms.”
I had so much fun with Brianne and Cody at their engagement session earlier this year and I was so excited to see them again on their wedding day! I started off the day with Brianne and her girls. Everyone was so sweet, and you could tell just how excited they were to watch their friend tie the knot.
Brianne decided to do a dress reveal for her bridesmaids and watching their reactions was one of my favorite parts of the day. Speaking of Brianne’s dress, it was gorgeous! I asked her about how she chose it and here is what she said, “I went dress shopping with my mom, mother in law, sister and two of my best friends. I found my dress at Wedding Angels in Roswell and it was the best experience.
We worked with Ellen and she was amazing. She asked what I was looking for and I said, sexy but elegant and not a ball gown. Ellen told me that I was going to try on all different types of dresses and to not make any predetermined decisions. Everyone was grabbing dresses left and right and I just couldn’t find one that I liked on the hanger. Given that my go-to clothing choice is running shorts and an athletic top it was super hard for me.
I took them all into the dressing room and Ellen told me to pick my favorite one first and HOLY MOLY IT WAS THE DRESS!! As I looked in the mirror, I knew that was the dress I would be walking down the aisle in. I came out and tears insistently ran down the cheeks of my mom, sister, Stephanie, and Cassandra. After I tried on about a dozen more dresses, I put it back on one last time and everyone’s reaction was the same, I started crying and said that it was the one.”
Brianne and Cody decided not to see each other before the ceremony, but they did share a moment behind the barn doors. Brianne said it was one of her favorite moments from the day. She said, “hearing his voice helped me take a deep breath and calm my butterflies.”
Brianne did do a first look with her dad and it was so sweet. I was totally crying behind my camera watching the two of them.
The ceremony was a mix of heartfelt moments and laughs. You could tell just how excited Brianne and Cody were to be spending the rest of their lives together. Brianne had many favorite moments, but she said her walk down the aisle was the one that stands out the most. She said, “Cody is not much of an emotional man and looking into his eyes and seeing how much he loved me is a feeling I can’t ever put into words. I have never ever wanted to kiss him and be in his arms more in my life than at that moment.”
The reception was so much fun! From Brianne dancing with her brother and sister to the whole crowd gathering on the dance floor to sing “friends in low places”, you could tell that Brianne and Cody were really loving every minute of their special day being surrounded by the family and friends they love.
Brianne and Cody, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
